Are they going to get some in Graceland for the tourists to listen to?

I wonder if Memphis was also selected because it is where FedEx is located and makes shipping a whole lot easier.

"If the warehouse concept shows results, Magnepan has its eyes on other cities not currently served by local dealers, including Las Vegas, Sacramento, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Columbus and St. Louis."

I live in Sacramento. It would be cool to have a warehouse here. That got me thinking--any locals with Maggies?  I would love to hear them.

Yes, but they'll be covered in velvet.  You'll have the choice of dogs playing poker or Elvis himself.  And you won't need the resistors to tame the tweeter.

There's also an upcharge for the bullet-proof versions.

"Continuing its experiments in 21st-century marketing and sales"...

The scheme sounds to me like something a reputable dealer should already be doing. If Magnepan wants to really kick up sales, distribute them to Costco, a real warehouse outlet.  :D That would really do it (or do them in, because of Costco's return policy). Didn't ML try that at one time?

You've gotta admit, that's a pretty clever idea.
I know that the shrinking number of brick and mortar stores is a real concern (as it is for most of the manufacturers).
For the smaller models they do Dealer Direct and then for the much heavier 1.7s you go and pick them up yourself for an in home trial.
I'm going to keep an eye on this one and see how it works out.

It is interesting.  I'm originally from Memphis and there was a dealer, Underground Sound, that sold Maggies for much of that time.  I bought my old 3.6's from them.  I guess they maybe stopped carrying Mags.
