The sound of the '70s EMT plate reverb

Sorry, seemed like the only circle for this.

My system has experienced major recent upgrades.  Wife just ran out to the store, and even though she seldom moans about the sound upstairs there's something more pleasant about cranking it with the house empty.  (The live real cannon shots in Master And Commander seem to deserve a call on the intercom every time though...TAS' Dr. Robert E. Greene tutored Crowe in the violin for that movie.)

I just played Joan Baez's Diamonds And Rust, an old classic audiophile cut from way back.  By comparison the original vinyl makes the Red Book sound pretty horrid, but not as Laura Nyro CDs are even worse.  It's obvious the person making the Baez CD either employed a 3rd gen master or worse, or the CD was not well mastered, or both.

I worked at the Record Plant and also hung out a lot at Different Fur Trading Company studio in SF Mission district, both of which employed the world-standard for that era, the EMT Plate Reverb.  Suddenly, hearing Joan's voice, out of the blue it hit me that the reverb effect for Joan may be the best example of the classic sound of the EMT plate reverb.

If you have similar experience with the EMT and have a better example, please list it here.
