have an audio technica at-14-sa moving magnet cartridge that has the original stylus atn-14. tip is broken on stylus but cartridge is fine. is this stylus a quad or not, and if it is should i spend the money to replace it with original or just get a close replacement. is red in color and has the shibata logo on bottom. am not playing anything in quad but i am concerned about quality of sound. player is a vintage harmon kardon linear tracker. any help is going to be appreciated in this matter. the rest of my system is alter model 19"s with upgraded crossovers california audio labs icon mark 11 cd player and mono block tubed amps 35 per side, these were hand built. pre-amp is sas audio labs 7a. also tubes.

I never owned an AT-14Sa, but I'd like to.  There's much love for this cart.  I'm not sure if it was made specifically for quad, but it has response to 45K so it might have been used for that.

TurntableNeedles has a NOS AT-14 stylus for $139.  The generator has first rate specs and I think it would be worth pursuing.
