Guys, what do you mean with "the bass is wire"......? in an MMG thread

I was reading a thread on the Magnepan MMG and this term was mentioned or referred to a few times. so, what does it mean?

It means that the section of the Mylar fed by the lower frequency side of the crossover has a wire conductor glued to it. The alternative is foil. One of the things shared by the members of the .7 family is the fact that they use foil - no wire on the Mylar. That is not the case for the new MMG, although it is said to be enhanced with .7 technology (some of us wonder what, exactly, that means :wink:).
