Wow, that sucks. Any idea of the cause of the fire?

You and Laura get your power back on yet?

I didn't hear what the cause was yet. Worse part was he wasn't home when it happened. That would suck big time to pull into your driveway and see your garage smouldering.

Power came back on around 9:30 last night, thankfully.

Yes indeed, that would suck to come home and find that.
Although, I'm an optimist, so I'd say, "Well, at least it was only the garage the house is ok".

Hi, guys.  We only got about 10 inches in Ballwin, but it's all gone now.  It screwed up 6 of my big Arborvitaes, so I need to talk to the nursery guys on how best to wire these back together so they look right.  Oh well, at least we didn't lose power.

I drank some of the beer in frustration, but there is still plenty left.  My wife said it worsened my attitude until I passed out.  I don't know what she's talking about.....

Anyways, we are all set for the shindig NEXT Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm.  Plenty of beer, soda pop, chili and snacks and fellowship !!  I think Terrance is still coming, but I'll check him next week.  Hope to see you all then.

In response to your concern on the Arborvitaes, here in Buffalo a while back in October we had a couple of feet of that wet and nasty heavy stuff, my arborvitaes suffered a lot too.  I was able to tie them up (to each other) with wire and they responded quite well.  They have a natural tendency to right themselves.  So I'll say splint them up best you can and they should be good as the weather warms up.

Beer - I'm stocked.  Please DON'T BRING ANY MORE - the objective is to use all this up before I drink it and my wife divorces me.  It's also the GOOD stuff.  No crappy beer.

Lot's of AB, import and other good stuff.....see photos !!

One more thing - to RSVP, you can send me a PM or call my cell phone and leave a message - (314) 952-9627.  I will call or PM back with directions to get to my hooch.  (I'm in Ballwin, MO.)  Remember - 1pm to 5pm, Sunday April 7th.

Well I did a trial run last night to show my Seattle buddy, Delf, the output of the BAT VK-6200 at full chat with an E. Power Biggs Bach multichannel recording, and traumatized my Scottie dog upstairs by rattling every window in the house.  He went out the dog door to escape the racket and hasn't come back in since.  I think we're good to go.

If you guys have any recordings you want to hear, bring 'em over.  I can play anything that's round.

Ok, guys, the chili and hot wings are ready to go.  The beer is COLD.  It looks like the weather will cooperate today.

Terrance DuPuis will be here to talk St. Louis Public Radio.  Hope to see you guys soon.

Thanks for hosting!!!  Very nice get together, lots of camaraderie and sharing of stories and music.

That theater room is a dream man-cave.  Awesome!

And I appreciate the opportunity to show off the KT88 integrated.

Here's a few crappy pics from my phone . . .

The theater room was simply too dark for a good picture.

Don, thank you VERY much for allowing us to invade your beautiful home (and drink your beer and eat your food).
You're a most gracious host, indeed, I had a great time.

Here's a few shots I took.

A couple of the Main Home Theater Man Cave:
(No, the speaker fabric is not brown. That's an issue with the photographer)

Just outside the main HT Man Cave, is the Mini Man Cave:
Left to right is Ken, Matt, Pete (a butt shot) and Roger.

And up stairs is a stunning Baldwin PLAYER piano:
Left to right is Joe, Ken, Don.
Note: If you look at the keys, you'll notice the piano is playing. That's cool.

Gents, it was my pleasure to host.  I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.  The GAS is a great bunch of guys, and I'm sure we could have talked about our toys all nite.

Look forward to seeing many of you at Kent's soiree in a couple weeks.

Thanks very, very much for hosting, and I'm looking forwards to Kent's as well.  :thumb:

Hey Don,

You've got an absolutely great system and are an even better host.  I had a great time.  It was really interesting to hear some of the surround SACDs played back through such an impressive system.  Thanks for having us all over.  Kent
