The author should indeed stick to how they sound.
I just spent several days of quality time listening to the venerable Infinity Renaissance 90 speakers - and good as they are, they are not even close my Soundscapes. This wide gap wasn't something I was expecting, but with my reference material they completely failed to pull me in - like I was used to.
Same goes for several other recent experiences involving other well-known brands sporting cables that cost the same as my whole setup.
Salk speakers are really something special indeed, but this perceived media snubbing (more attributable to the inavailability of review models due to the custom direct model) can easily paint frustrated owners in a bad light.
