PS Audio IV Preamp - good passive?

I am hunting one of these preamps, as I understand that it can be used as a passive - I know that it is not new, but I am looking to build a system slowly on the side, on the cheap - naturally.

So, longer term, I would like to match this preamp up with

A - Monarchy amp, eventually 2
B - TEAC digital 3 channel amps

Anyone shed any light on this thought?

My current Sugden does nothing wrong, I am just looking to experiment, and try new configurations.

Mike, thanks, but I have won one on eBay. It is missing the power supply, and can only be used passively as a result - ALSO as a result, it was of far less interest to most, and was cheap.

If I find that the pre is great, but does not work PASSIVELY in my application, I would certainly seek to support a fellow ACer for my follow up purchase.
