I think your plan looks pretty good. You could cover the diffusors with acoustically transparent fabric, but if it's absorptive at all it would likely be a waste of time to do the diffusors. A different option could be to do the 4" think OC and cover the entire area with slats. You could use nice looking wood on the exterior of the fabric, or use simple plywood or non appearance-grade wood inside the fabric to save money. Something like this:

Awesome. I'm into that.
Well thanks everyone. Now that I've got the concept I can dive into construction docs. Ill keep you posted as to when I start building. I'm hoping some time in April.
