just found out a couple hours ago that Mel passed away on the 5th, probably the best B3 player out there

I knew Mel very well, and he was quite the character. Most people have no idea how well he did blues, and also just how good of a piano player he was. Although in the last few years he kinda got hung up on the electronic keyboards. Usually used a big Kerswell. His brother passed away on the 5th of January, but I never knew him. His sister is an excellent vocalist, and Mel using played with her when she had a gig.

I like to think he's up there jamming with Jack Mcduff!
