All -

Moving this discussion off of the welcome thread to a labyrinth of its own so you folks can dispense tons of advice!

Here's the quick overview:
Used to have big spaces...moved to Webster...now have a small space...was using four Acoustat Model 3 (MK-121 interfaces) as mains and surrounds along with a Martin Logan Theater center and M&K 2000 sub in a 5.1 setup...my relationship with the Acoustats dates back to the mid-eighties and I really don't want to let them go...BUT...unless I get some help in working an acoustic treatment miracle I may have no choice but to part ways with them and rebuild sans planars.

Associated equipment is currently a basic Samsung 1500 blu-ray (that's right - we're definitely not videophiles) used only for DVD/blu-ray; Onkyo TX-SR805 as pre-pro (for better or worse it does have Audyssey MultEQ XT); Sunfire TGA-5400 amp; Bel Canto DAC 1.5 with Logitech Squeeze Touch for digital; my ol' Technics SL-1210M5G with Audio Technica AT150MLX MM for analog; display is one of those LG THX 60" plasma thingies.

Pics and room dimensions to follow.  In the interim, please feel free to share your experiences with taming small room reflections with planars (or anything for that matter) and lets get the dialogue going.

Many thanks!

Our very own Mr Bryan Pape should be the man to give you the best advice. You can either send him a message (bpape) or you can find him over on the GIK Acoustics board.

That is going to be real difficult, when you need to reduce the room size by six feet right at the start for speaker positioning. Electrostatics hate being shoved into corners and against walls.

I'd be glad to help.  In addition to doing acoustics, I also own a pair of Acoustats and am very familiar with what they want/like/despise, etc.

PM me and let's talk.

Thanks to all that have already raised their hands to either demo a solution or discuss options.  To give an idea of what I'm facing I went ahead and setup a gallery to house images of both two channel and 5.1 rooms.
