Up for sale is my Electrocompaniet ECD-1 DAC. I've enjoyed this DAC more than any I've had, musicality-wise and have held on to it for longer than any other also. It's made music connect to my soul like nothing I've had other than the heralded Electrocompaniet EMP-1UP itself. It's in near perfect condition. I'd rank it an 8.5-9/10 simply because of its age and the fact I'm not the original owner. Physically and operationally it's perfect. It will come with the original box and manuals, and power cable. This is a native 115V U.S. unit, not some hacked up job that was modified from 220/230V.
You'll find no op-amps in this piece, it's all discrete transistor based output stages. The only reason I'm selling is to upgrade to a significantly more expensive DAC and I need to recoup some cash. I'm going to be sorry I parted with this, I'm sure
. The sound is very pleasant with a deep and wide soundstage, solid bass, and the beautiful trademark warm Electrocompaniet sound. It's a digital classic.
