Eleanor Rigby?
« on: 24 Feb 2013, 09:26 pm »
I was impressed by the track "Eleanor Rigby" in the Sander's Sound room at CES.  I can't locate it.  I asked Roger and he told me it was from a compilation demo disk from some show in Asia.  The disk was sent to him by his dealer in Taiwan.  The writing on the disk is definitely not English.

The song is in English and sparsely done.  Female vocal and an upright bass or solo guitar (I don't remember now). The style reminded me of something Bob Wasserman would have included on his CD Duets.  I searched one of the sites that lists covers of songs and the list for "Eleanor Rigby" was daunting.

Can anybody identify the track and original CD for me?

Thanks,  But there are over 22 pages.  I stopped trying to find the end at 22 pages.

Let me help you with a translation of "daunting".  That mountain is just too big to climb.   I am not even going to start.

I used a site that only listed recorded/released cover versions and it listed too many. YouTube has too much amateur material to even begin to sort through.

Any link to listen this version??

OBS.: Under ''eleanor rigby cover'' argument there is some options on YT:

Do you can identify if the female vocalist is Chinese/Japanese or North American/Euro??
If Asiatic the reseach group is small.

Jazzman53,

Thanks for the suggestions.  I just checked them out on Amazon and neither was the track.  I will check out more Liz Calloway later when I have more time. I might like her for other songs. I sent her to my Wish List.

Maybe the Liz Calloway or Liz Cole versions?

She sounded like English was her native language.  So she was either American or British trying to sound American.  I thought it might be Rebecca Pidgeon but I can't find that track by her.
