I have a Mac Mini and an Ipad and would like to use my Ipad as a remote, what app would you recommend?

None it's built in to iTunes as "remote".  I'm using my phone to do it right now.  Or u could use any vnc app.   Jon

No, it's not true. The Remote app will let you navigate and control your iTunes library when front-ended with any of those playback programs, as well as Audirvana+.

If you actually want to "control" the mini, and not just play music via iTunes, then you'll need some sort of VNC program like iTeleport (or any of the dozen others out there).  A simple Google search should help you out there.
