I'm not sure were to put this question so I will start it hear.

My question is, anyone have problems with using the Audiogon site or is it just me.
I'm ready to through in the towel.

Besides audio circle, what's a good place to buy/sell equipment?

Regards,
Jerry

Most of my audio dealings have been with audiogon for the last seven years, since the site upgraded, it's terrible.

I have an ebay account and I was thinking of trying them again.

The other suggestions also sound interesting.

I love Audiogon. I haven't tried the new site yet but I've had nothing but stellar results either buying or selling.

Audiogon has become a shell of it's former self since the "upgrade". This usually happens when greed comes into the picture. My opinion, nothing more.

I agree audiogon is not what it used to be. I wish they would go back but I think they are becoming another ebay.

I have bought and sold numerous pieces on CAM(canuck audiomart)and a few bought and sold on Audiogon.
There is a another site like CAM called US Audiomart which gets lots of traffic and NO FEES :thumb:.

Audiogon or Audiostillavailable is not the same at all.   They have to remove noreply email system.   It leads to communication breakdown which is never good when you are trying to sell or buy.

I just sold 3 items through Asylum Trader, because I'm cheap and didn't want to pay the Agon fees.
Cost me nothing, no commission, no listing fee. NADA!

The original Audiogon was wonderful. Then it changed.
I am pretty certain it was sold to a new owner. The location of Audiogon changed from Michigan to the Southeast. (Somewhere like South Carolina?) and all the good reasons to use it disappeared. Now i would never bother to use Audiogon to sell anything, nor would i buy from there anymore. (though if I really was desparate for some rare item.. I might change my mind it it was on Audiogon)
Most of the problems with the 'new' Audiogon center around failure of the staff to control fraud, and lack of email ability to sellers/buyers to communicate.
Seems the Agon staff are now way more worried about collecting fees than good service and great transactions.
Agree with use the sales here, or Audio Asylum.

I recently tried to buy a nice pair of the old style Kimber Kable 8TC 13 foot pair of cables with
the BUY IT NOW button on Audiogon. I got an email shortly after that said I won them and wait
for the shipping info to pay.

The next day I was no longer the purchaser due to a computer glitch, and that's not the first time
Audiogon has dropped the ball. To many glitches and no one seems to be doing anything about it.
Buyer and seller beware. The new Audiogon in a word, SUCKS..

Besides the complaints listed above I am frustrated that offers and counter offers disappear 48 hours after they expire. On several occasions I have wanted to follow up when my counter offer was not responded to in any way. I wanted to verify the counter offer had been received and open a door for negotiations. When offers and counter offers disappear so does the user name.  In the "no reply" emails sent to my email account only the persons real name is used.  I have started writing down user names when I make a counter offer.

Sadly I have had zero luck selling on any of the free sites except Audio Circle. If I can't sell something here I am pretty much stuck with Audiogon.

We used to be able to call them, now you cannot contact them at all, the service is non existant. I am only going to use ebay who I can call, preferred customer status, and try things here for awhile. No feedback here I know of but I am sure if something goes bad you could just post a thread, but from what I have seen people post positive comments with some ads for prvious dealings so better than nothing.
