audio plugins that take biquad filter calcs
« on: 10 Feb 2013, 10:18 pm »
I am using REW to locate and fix some room problems. I was using a miniDSP and pushing the calcs to it worked beautifully.
Now I am using Pure Music to handle crossover duties for my bi-amped system and I need to install my room corrections and I was hoping to find an EQ plug-in to do that, but so far nothing I have found accepts bi-quad filter calcs.
Is there a work around? Maybe a way to convert bi-quad calcs into PEQ settings.
BTW my Mac front end with Pure Music using an audio interface connected to my two amps and two way speakers has yielded fantastic results. I now have one DAC in the playback chain at the end instead of a DAC - preamp - ADC/DAC(miniDSP) in front.

Ok, I figured it out. I don't need to use biquad calcs to get filter settings out of REW so I don't have to have an audio plugin that take biquad filter calcs.

Which plugin are you using for the EQ?

Fabfilter ProEQ. It was recommended by an audio processing software engineer. I haven't yet decided if I will buy it. It is very easy to work with.

I really like FabFilter Pro-Q.

I always do EQ adjustments in a "measurement loop". I.e. measure, adjust, remeasure.
