i just downloaded the new software version for my BDP-1 and found out that lots and lots of titles and/or artists are not shown on the display anymore

please help

Hi Al,

Which firmware version was on your BDP before upgrading?  Does the track information appear in a MPD client (ie Max, mPad)?  What type of audio files are you playing (flac, wav aiff)?

hi, Chris!

i believe it was S1.40...

and yes mpod (used on iphone4) shows the titles etc. but mpod is not very stable, too...it crashes every now and then. i have mostly wave files from 44.1/16 to 192/24. the only sign that the BDP-1's display shows is a small arrow on the lower left side. and also the list of the chosen songs is missing when using MAX2.

mp3 files are shown correctly by the BDP-1's display.

Hi Al,

Yes in S1.60 we introduced a new piece of software to send data the display on the front of the unit, it uses far fewer CPU resources then the previous version; however because its had to be rewritten from the ground up we are not at all surprised that some customers would experience problems with it.  Are you running S1.60 or S1.65 (released today, but has been posted on the forums for a week or two now)?

It is currently available, if you open the BDP's home page and wait a few seconds it should prompt you that an update is available.

ok. new software S1.65 is installed. still nothing to see on the display except the small arrow in the lower left side. still the chosen songs are missing in MAX2. tried wave 176.4/24 files so far. but i notice that the kbps/khz are shown now correctly which is very nice.

Gnome works fine...

...have tried mp3 files now and the BDP-1's display works without issue. MAX2 still won't list the chosen songs/artists etc which should be seen on the left side. but it does show the bitrate, type, sample and song (in the middle) and on the right side the content of the hdd appears. and there is no response for the remaining time of the currently played song which did not happen when i tried wave 176.4/24 files.

...and it just happened that the display turned off (except the small arrow) while switching from Gnome to MAX2. played song was a mp3 file.
