All the gold plating, great workmanship, and super premium parts, and its still going to sound just like a stock Dyna St-70, available custom wired by us for $100 a few decades ago.  :(

Does it come standard with a gold plated fuse?

 Probably not since I don't see any other boutique components.  Plus it's not the original circuit now that it's SS rectified.  :nono:

Really it's not all that fancy after all, and wouldn't it be funny to find out that it's just brass plated and then clear-coated?  :wtf:

Really?  You want $3K for a Dynaco ST-70 with a fairly standard rebuild (parts-wise), a modded PS circuit, and a "gold" plated chassis?  Can you prove the chassis is triple plated?  Because that's what one is buying, essentially.

Mmmm...I'll pass thanks.  :finger:

Eye candy...not ear candy judging by the circuit description which had a woefully inadequate driver stage and ps even back in the day...

Best,

Save yourself a thousand bucks and buy an Ultravalve amp from Frank. Gold plated performance and service, instead of chassis.

Regarding our Ultravalve, no gold plated chassis but is is a highly polished stainless steel chassis and it looks pretty darn nice.  But by far most of the cost is all in the electronics inside, not into stock Dynaco circuits.

Hi,I would rather go for the better sound with Franks Ultravalve,I quess and hope we all would And a stainless steel chassis finish lasts forever, gold plating not so much. But you got to admit it raised some eyebrows here, thats why I threw it in for your reactions. If any of you have watched (Storage Wars),it looks like some thing Barry, the eccentric guy who sounds like Jack Nicholson would have to own.The wiring looked pretty darn good under there though....Mark K.
