Audiophile Power Regenerator vs online UPS
« on: 30 Jan 2013, 12:53 am »
I've searched about this topic  and even though there has been some thread available, haven't found any useful comparison. Both Audiophile Power regenerator such as PS Audio or PurePower products and mainstream online UPS uses double conversion topology and generates pure sine wave. Apart from audiophile outlet, detachable power cord and quiet/no fan, is there any meaningful technological difference between the two types?

I've seen some good feedback here on AC regarding liebert ups. It has a noisy fan though which can be replaced. Can anyone share their opinion and experiences? Is there any quiet/no fan with upgradeable outlests online UPS available? More specifically, anyone have experience with CyberPower OL1500RTXL2U UPS:

you have to read all the write ups to see who is doing what. nromally a ups converts ac to charge batteries then outputs batteries to an inverter to convert back to ac supply.power regen is a little different, ps audio has alot of write ups on their site on differences.
