What tweaks can I do to an AMC CD8B?

I want to try some inexpensive tweaks before I spend money on a new one.  Nothing too technical, I have no soldering equipment, but I took the top off and there is almost nothing inside.  Anyone have any simple suggestions? :?:  :?:
