If I were you, I'd get a KRK Ergo system for $500, mic included and be done with it. Seriously.

A Shure 58 is a handheld vocal mic with a huge roll-off from 200Hz down so that it sounds correct when sung into with the lips touching the screen. Given the proximity effect that is inherent in all directional microphones, this LF cut has to be horrendous and makes this completely unsuitable for this sort of application.
