There is more than a little magic in this silver box.I am offering this first to AC since this is the home of the Modwright circle. To tell you this phono preamp will exceed the performance of the others in this price range is not hyperbole.Actually you can double the price. It simply outperforms the CARY,EAR,ASR OR whatever you might want to put it up against.I am adding a Mono table so i have gone with the Manley Steelhead and i just can't put this in the closet.
Two things struck me..... yesterday when i was looking online for some info on this amp i found a post from a friend who was responding to how this amp sounds...."Great! sorry i sold mine" that was one of three people who bought this amp after hearing this in my system.I set the amp back up in my system just to make sure it was 100% and after an hour i had to turn it off-it was killing me,it sounded so good.
Here is the magic...this amp started as a stock 9.0se and then went back to Dan Wright to correct an issue the amp had.It was not only corrected but in the process of the repair Dan made this a project and made numerous upgrades and tweaks that are exclusive to this particular amplifier that greatly improved the sound reproduction over the stock model. As per my agreement with Dan i can't publicly reveal these improvements. They greatly improved the soundstage and dynamic imaging. This amp reads deep into thje vinyl in an uncanny warm and euphonious way with holographic liquidity.
That was in 2007.Two years later i opted for the 500.00 dual mono upgraded internal power supply. This was a signifigant improvement.A few years after that i added the Bendix 6900 red bank holy grail tubes to substitute for the  5687 tubes. The going price on a pair of Bendix Red Bank 6900's is in the 600.00 range. The addition of these tubes make this amp magic! Manual and additional loading options included.
Last year we replaced the transformer and we are good to go for years!
Also included in the sale is a Mullard 5ar4 and a Matushita 5ar4.This amp has now been out of production for years.
The retail on this amp new was 2,999.99 considering the 500.00 power supply upgrade and the Bendix 6900 tubes at a similar price plus the internal hot rodding by the amps designer himself i have found it a little difficult to set a price on this one of a kind Modwright amp.
I am initially asking 2,700.00 plus shipping and 3.5%  paypal fees. If you want the amp without the 6900's that is also an option but they are important for the optimum sound.Original manual and loading options included.
I can send you some photos, but it is just a silver box,the real magic is inside.

I agree. It's much easier to resist it now that it's gone!  :thumb:
