Which Sure? The 3110?  I have the 2050.

The 3110 gets ignored because it's $10 bucks. Big mistake. That one Sure actually got right (more likely the circuit is too simple for them to screw up).

My sures hiss too, but damn they sound good for $15 and $25 dollars. Might try the Indeed.

Is it ok or not ok to connect these T amp boards to the pre-outs on a receiver?

Here's the warning from the Sure:

The short and sweet is the Indeed new Tripath amp blows away my Sures. For now I will thoroughly enjoy all my albums/music files again.

I bought this $58 3 tube preamp off ebay and it's an excellent match for the Sure TK2050.

For me, hiss is unacceptable, no matter the price. Personally, I've never heard a tripath amp hiss. I've had two Daytons recently that sound great.

What kind of an audiophile can be that rational and disciplined?  :D

I have 3 different T amps, and I to haven't heard any hiss from them. Could the power supply be the culprit? While we are on the subject of noise, what should be done about grounding when installing these amp boards in a wooden case? The inputs, outputs, power, and speaker terminals will all be remotely located to the wooden case. Any thoughts on what (if any) of these connections should be grounded to the board?

I use SLA Batteries in my amp and pre amp and I have swapped in power supplies and the hiss always remains, even with the new impressive Indeed.

Poultrygeist where did you purchase (or build) the black box? I assume it is a switch?  My preamp has one input which drives me nuts. I only need two or three.
