does anyone know how to reach decca?
« on: 15 Dec 2012, 02:24 pm »
I am trying to get in touch with the people from Decca to find out wether there is a good copy available somewhere.
Does anyone know an email address phone number of Decca? On the website there is a kind of out of service statement.

Probably they don't want customers?

Thanks in asvance.

Michiel

communication so far:

L.S.,

I bought Mission Cecilia Bartoli on vinyl.
The first delivery had a torn sleeve.
The second delivery has a warped nr 2 disc.

My record store informed me that the other copy they have is also warped and they assume it is a production error.

So in their opinion a replacement is of no use until there is another production run.
They offer me a refund. I am not interested in a refund I only have an interest in a non warped copy.

Please inform as soon as possible how you can supply me an straight vinyl copy.

Kind regards,

Michiel

P.S. I have send this question to this address earlier. The disc label is decca. The website sends me to Universal and they send me to you.

Decca is now part of Universal, as is Deutche Grammophon.  Their record web site is decca.com

Normally when you purchase a defective record, it goes back to the retailer.  If it's a vintage title that's out of print, there's probably no recourse.  Good luck.

No - there is no good copy available !

This 2 LP set was pressed cheap in the Czech Republic by GZ Digital.

Look on the dead wax and you'll find: www.gzvinyl.com

This is a digital recording so try to find a 96 kHz/24 bit file.

Thanks for the replies. It is sad that they don't have a good copy available.

The fact that the old industry major is not able to answer says enough.

And they keep on complaining that the customers run away!

Thanks

Michiel
