SB touch....and usb - external drive
« on: 13 Dec 2012, 04:36 pm »
So, what's the deal with the Touch and reading USB External HD plugged directly into the TOUCH?

I can't seem to get my HD Music drive to be read by the Touch when connecting it directly via USB but if the HD is connected to my iMac and the TOUCH is wireless on the network, it's fine?
When the HD is plugged in via USB, it reads and scans it to about 95% complete, then it says there's an error.  I've tried this  multiple times without success.  Anyone know what's going on and or how to fix it?

thanks
T

The forums are full of reports of stalled scans on directly connected USB drives that were not a problem with the same drive connected to a computer on the network.  The TinySC internal version of the squeezebox server software in conjuction with a small processor seems to have a problem with some music files, artwork files or other non-library related files on the disk.

Can you find an error log that might pinpoint on which file it stalled on?
