Roger Waters sounded like shit!! He had some random dude singing lead vocals that looked like they pulled off of Muscle Beach.(the dude had no voice either) Eddie Vedder crushed his song though.
I'm no Bon Jovi fan but he sounds good and I like his duo with Bruce.

Damn, that's the best I've heard Jagger sing in years! Incredible. The Stones alone was worth watching & donating to the relief. :thumb:

Thanks for the reminder! :thumb:

A lot of  excellent and surprising performances. You can tell the musicians were really into it. McCartney is stretching out. That garage band jam was interesting. His second group has that drummer, he's an animal. I don't who he is. Actually his main drummer is awesome too. I missed Clapton.

I'm surprised that there haven't been more comments about this concert. Perhaps one thing is that I found the SQ through my system was only mediocre. I must do more to upgrade my cables or whatever so I can get better SQ through my TV. On the other hand maybe it was the sound quality of the broadcast itself that was responsible.

What channel did you watch it on? I started watching on HBO but it wasn't being broadcast in digital audio. MSG tho was in Dolby Digital & I found the audio to be very good on my system. The volume was cranked and I watched the whole concert. I'm still taken back by just how good the Rolling Stones were, especially Mick Jagger's vocals.

And wouldn't you know it I got a promotional email today from DirecTV for a Rolling Stones PPV concert ($49.95) this Saturday Dec. 15. + Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen, & The Black Keys. Too rich for my blood unfortunately. :duh:

Cheers,
Robin

Pretty cool concert.  :D

I enjoyed Eric Clapton and Alecia Keys the most. The whole thing was pretty cool, but those two...

Man, how about The Stones? Mick made all the other artists look freakin' lethargic!

I'm not sure what channel I was first listening to but I soon searched around and listened AXS. It was much better but I was still yearning for better. I don't have HBO. I thought the Who were exceptional. They still have a little of bad boy in them despite advancing years. Billy Joel's head sax player killed his licks. I can't believe Paul McCartney hasn't blown out his vocal cords yet. That garage band set with Grohle ...very nice. :thumb:  I missed Clapton. AXS is repeating tonight so I'm going to check that out. Kanye West was a bore for me. I thought that Alesia Keys closing last song about NY was way better than her first set. There were other performers that did well too.

Well the way I looked at it, the concert was in Madison Square Garden so I surmised it was a MSG broadcast and all the other channels were rebroadcasts of the MSG signal which means another trip to the satellite & back. Both audio & video are 2nd generation on rebroadcasts, and the a/v quality usually reflects that.

Kenye West is his own best fan,,, he sucks chunks imho.

Cheers,
Robin
