At this point I'm wondering if there's any good reason to upgrade from all that's been said here so far. To date I've resisted upgrading to ios6, mountain lion, and now iTunes 11 and haven't regretted it. Seems to some extent that apple of late is falling into the same trap of introducing upgrades that don't necessarily improve features, performance or usability

Stu- sounds like maybe you should be in the market for a used Mac with an older copy of iTunes. Better / more stable hardware & software.  Bought one recently for my father for $300. Maybe you could even do a trade with no cash out.

I can't change the order that albums appear under artists.  I hate how albums appear alphabetically; I want them chronologically.  Metallica's ...And Justice For All shouldn't come before Kill 'Em All.  Maybe I'm the only idiot who gets hung up on chronological order of albums.  I could change this in the previous version.

View > View Options > Sort Albums by Year

You won't be able to toggle between ascending or descending order, it will be oldest to newest.

I worked out most of my issues with iTunes 11, and I like some parts of it more than the previous version.  Actually, the only part I like more is when I click on an album, it opens up with the cover art and custom colors.  Pretty cool IMO.

What I still hate...

Can't change the background color to black like I used to.  The white background gives me a headache.

Can't get the album-ish view when clicking on artists.  I hate the artist view.

One that hopefully someone's firgured  out by now...
Any way to get songs listed alphabetically by artist?  The old version allowed this.  Normally I wouldn't have any use for it, but I synch a lot of stuff to my ATV1's hard drive.  It's far easier to spot duplicates with songs by artist.  I've got some greatest hits albums that I ripped a while back.  As I've bought some of those artists' albums, I want to delete the songs from my ATV.  Not to mention I synch some of my 2 year old daughter's stuff to the ATV.  I don't need 8 versions of The Wheels On The Bus, nor do I need 3 versions of it by the same artist.  Her Kids Bops CDs have some duplicate songs on different volumes for some reason unbeknownst to me.

Are you folks listening to music or being distracted by an LCD screen? My computer's primary use is a repository for my library. It sits a good 15 feet from my listening position. How do you sit in front of a computer and listen?

Easy - When I'm using my computer to do things like write papers.  Or when I was employed, I'd use it at work.  Thanks for that.

You can't resize artwork in the Album view, but their is limited adjustment for the Artist view and in Playlists (View > Artist List).

John, you may already be looking at the largest possible size, but in case you're looking at something smaller, there is some adjustment available through the menu View > View Options (or Command/Ctrl + J).
