Phono preamp into dac
« on: 9 Dec 2012, 02:31 pm »
I just got a Technics SL-1200 MK5.  My current setup is:

Squeezebox Touch>Tadac Dac>First Watt F3>Hornshoppe Horns

I am waiting on a Transcendent Sound Phono Preamp to be built and sent to me.

The Tadac Dac (which I also use as a preamp with volume control) has aux analog RCA inputs.  Just for grins I plugged the phono cables into the dac and no sound.  I'm wondering if I just need to wait for the phono preamp to put in between the turntable and tadac dac or is this dac even going to work with a turntable?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The phono stage contributes at least around 40dB of gain, depending.  Once you get the phono stage all should be fine.
