I finally finished my Hiquphon OW1/Vifa P17WJ-00-08x2 MTM speakers, using a AP/LEAP program (ox2.5kHz).
I don't know what compelled me to go with this combo, but in the end I'm glad I did. I was worryed about the P17
drivers not being transparent enough or the mid-bass being to loose, well the P17 really surprised
me it blended very well with the OW1, there are better drivers out there but the Vifa P17 held it's own,
smooth, good mid-bass and clear, not much bottom-end extension but a sub will take care of that, also the P17 has a very good frequency range.
The OW1 is a great tweeter, with the ability to reveal inner detail. My room is a little lively so the OW1 was the same but they only have 8 hrs burn in.
So far I have a smooth, warm & detailed combo with very good sensitivity that I'm very happy with, and I hope they get better.

Beautiful looking speakers.  I wish I had the patience to work with wood to that level of detail.  What's that bong looking thing in the corner? 8)

kudos on a job well done!
How did you arrive at those box dimensions?
Eight hours is nothing. Please withhold judgement until you reach 200 hours at least. I'd estimate that you will need at least 100 hours before the bass begins to blossom.

Nice job! I agree with Jerry that 8 hours is not even close for break-in time. I've got about 250 hours on the pair that I built over the holidays and the bass is becoming more prominent every day. Ok I'm over doing it a bit with the every day comment, but definatly more noticable as time goes on.

Audiojerry,
The cabinets are 1.0Cu.Ft. w/internal bracing & lined with felt.
I hope the mid-bass get's a little more body to it, as far as voices
go, they are sounding very good now and the OW1 tweeter is
starting to settle down.
