Monarchy Audio has some good stuff on sale

There are two goodies that caught my attention:
1. The NM24 tube/solid state DAC/preamp for only $1080. I had this one in my system before and it was almost as good as my Modwright Ls100 preamp/Cal Sigma tube DAC combination at 3 times the price.
2. The DIP Classic for $240. Tried it in my sytem and it added immediate improvement with more focus imaging and clearer sound. I'm ordering one.

They are available on Monarchy's direct sale web page http://www.highendatlowcost.com

I am not sure of the current status of Monarchy Audio.  Mr. Poon wanted to retire so he was seeking a buyer for the company.  That may be something to check into before making a purchase.

I owned 2 different versions of the DIP 8-10 years ago and loved what they did for my system. However, when I upgraded to higher quality DACs and amps I found that the DIP no longer offered any sound improvement, so I sold it. I concluded that the DIP can make a real difference only if there is significant jitter in your system.

Yeah, I agree that if you have a expensive high end DAC with the reclock and jitter reduction functions, you probably don't need the DIP. But if you have an older DAC or a preamp with a built in DAC and dont want to give them up yet or not ready to fork big $$$, or building a low cost but decent system, then adding the DIP is something to consider to improve your existing sound. Anyways, in my case and as an audio enthusiast on a budget, I'm not ready to give up my Cal Sigma tube DAC yet. It still sounds pretty darn good compared to many current DACs. Plus, I have exchanged emails with Mr. Poon and even though he is trying to retire, he is not going anywhere for a long while as finding a successor for his company is not easy. So adding the Monarchy DIP for me at $240 is a good choice and no brainer.
