I finally got around to repairing the RCA on one of my Kenwood L-O7m amplifiers. It sounds like a simple job, but believe me, most of the amp has to be dismantled. Then, the RCA itself was probably proprietary, so finding one the would work was not easy. There isn't much room inside the amp.
I connected them last night in replacement to a modified Hafler DH-500, which I thought was pretty good, but there was no comparison. The Kenwoods were so much better, even my non-audiophile girlfriend noticed the difference. Better detail and soundstage. The slightly exaggerated sibilance that the Haflers are known for was gone.
I'll bet these would hold their own against some pretty formidable modern amps.
