You know what Ed, I think I'll go buy that today. I did see it once, but it was over HBO on my living room tv, which is a big screen, but it's an 8 year old 54" standard ratio rear projection "hi-def" set. In its defense, it's fairly decent, and it was free. I think it's cool, the big colored lenses inside that reflect from a surface in the back and onto the front screen from there. The best quality it has is a sense of life and light on shows with anything outdoors.

Getting this new tv is just like how it is with new stereo components that make a large improvement, you want to listen to old albums again, this tv has me wanting to watch stuff because, the veil has been lifted  :thumb: :duh:

Holy crap. Vudu HD service is quite good... comparable to some discs I own... but Avatar on BluRay is absolutely insane. You're not gonna stream that..

It proved to me that I'm going to be very happy with this set. Avatar on this screen is a dream come true. So far no problems whatsoever. FWIW my little LCD was a Samsung, and I loved it so much this set is also a Samsung. They make great tv's and yes I am loyal if you treat me good.

I believe I have it fully burned in and I have nothing to say but wow. The image quality is a dream.

And don't get me wrong, Vudu HD is very very good, it gets you to 100% of most films, but Avatar on Bluray is pumping some serious data rates. I could see Vudu HD is no slouch though, definitely good enough for most movies that you would think you're watching a BluRay. I will say this, Vudu HD is definitely better than DVD by a large margin.

rclark,

Are you still happy with your purchase?

My brother purchased a 50" Sammy LED UN50ES6580F and is sending it back for a refund!

He is replacing it with a Panny 50".

Have you experienced any burn in issues ?

Was there any special process for run in ?

I will be purchasing a HDTV in the near future and thought I might give Samsung a look see, based on your positive comments.

Thanks! Samsung PN51E450A1F. Can't wait to take down my 25 inch LCD I've been running for four years and fire up this beast.  :thumb:
Still waiting for my ride...

Rclark,

I'm wondering if your model Samsung PN51E450A1F will still come down in price or if it will be phased out soon :?:
I'm still thinking about one.  :o

It's $550 on Amazon right now, and I honestly don't expect prices on tv's like this to go much lower, it's gotta be a bottom. 600hz, 51 in plasma in a nice form factor, major brand, great image quality. That's under priced, imo. I would just go for it!

It is a pretty incredible deal.  You get one of these in your place and you will feel pretty smug when you hear what people paid for these a few years ago.  And if you are moving from regular tv to hd it is stunning...
