It would be interesting to experiment with a longer version of this arm, but at $5K a pop.....
The superiority claim goes beyond offset and resulting skating, vs alignment error. It seems to be based more on cantilever alignment with the arm, and the (claimed) superiority of the magnetic fluid arm bearing. Zero and negative overhang is an interesting concept, but with a one point(?) Stevenson alignment, error at beginning of record must be horrendous on the 7" version, and I would guess, intolerable on the 9" version. Excessive alignment error causes phase (timing) discrepancy between channels. I think that cantilever alignment with the groove is important, but less important than alignment with the pivot? I didn't notice any alignment error figures with the arm specs. I didn't read the reviews, but it must be pretty bad. If you buy into the premise of the reason for the quality of this arm, you might as well get an air bearing linear tracker. It will have all the advantages unless the pivot isn't as good, w/o the alignment error.
