Ripped a couple CDs I bought recently to ALAC (aka "Apple Lossless") and they play back garbled. I have managed to point the Fickle Finger of Fate at VLC because the same files work fine in other players, and I used several "ripper" apps with the same results. Interestingly, I took the original ALAC rip which was garbled in VLC, converted
that file to FLAC, and it played in VLC just fine, so I think I can rule out data corruption.
Reckon I'm gonna file a bug report but just wondered if any VLC users here had run into this. I have played ALACs in VLC in the past
