I got interested in the new mega-woofers Brian has developed; interest became decision, and today I take my 626Rs in to the factory to have the upgrade done. I'm eagerly curious as to how the 626Rs will sound after the upgrade, they already portray music as accurately to the real deal as I've heard from a speaker. Aspects like tighter, deeper bass I suppose are what I have to look forward to, but to tell you the truth, I don't even think in those terms with these speakers; I hear the performances now no ...
I guess your neighbour must've pissed you off
I only wish all could sit in front of my system and play and replay "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo" and focus on the quality and tone of the bass response.
I bought this disc a couple of months ago, and still haven't played it on the home system. Sounded mighty good on the Bose car stereo I'll definitly play it first with the new woofs!
Make sure and let them "break in" a bit before "spinning" that one, or have Big B run them for a few more cycles on his VMPS cooker.
If you'll return the old mid xover when you get the new one (supplied no charge with the Megawoofers) you can certainly do the upgrade yourself.Be warned that the old woofer has a wide flange on the basket and the new one does not, so the appearance of the system will not be as good (new basket is smaller). The thruhole is the correct size for both woofers.Price of the upgrade is $195pr including shipping.
