Is the volume controllable via remote?

I had the remote control version but it uses a different circuit design based on the 6DJ8. This non-remote 12AX7 version sounds noticeably better so I exchanged them. The pricing for both units is the same but I felt the sound quality should take presedence. The Siemens NOS tubes took the SQ to yet another level.

great preamp down to $550. you would be hard pressed to find a better preamp for the money

This preamp was completly redesigned in 2010, wider bandwidth, increased dynamic range, lower distortion and noise floor. More Power supply capacitance and a newly designed audio choke combine to provide a clearer more powerful presentation with a wider and deeper soundstage.  Unlike open chassis design preamps, This preamp is well shielded against EMI/RFI noise.  A bargain @ $550 shipped.
