 Cheap crossover tweak.

 I recently soldered a 0.01uf Vishay MKP 1837 cap ($1.00 each) in parallel across a 5.6uf silver/gold/oil cap
that is just before my tweeter and found that stick definition on cymbals and brushes on snare drums are much
better defined in my system.

I wonder if I could use Audio Notes Tantalum 2 Watt resistors in my passive crossovers which
may sound better then the 10 watt resisters that I'm currently using.
Or would 2 watts not be high enough and fry?

You should probably seek to use resistors that equal the power rating of original component. Where are the resistors located in the circuit? Are they in-line with a driver or are they in a shunt position? The resistors in series with a driver are more critical.
Mills makes a line of non-inductive resistors with ratings up to 12 watts.
