Ok, waiting for this week to go actually see a HTC-8x Windows 8 phone.  They are supposed to be in stock at the Verizon store soon.

Anyone looking at these?

I've seen them in action, they're really sweet phones. I'm gonna wait another year, I just bought a fresh battery for my 7 based phone.

The IE10 interface works well as a remote control for Foobar2000 to give full database access.

HAL what did you do about the HTC 8x?

My wife has an HTC Windows 8 phone on Verizon, but she's had it for a few months, so maybe an earlier version than you're talking about HAL.  It is a very nice phone, very fast. She likes it better than the Android based HTC Hero she used to use, but she does miss the nice UI of the blackberry. She had to turn in the first Winphone she got due to some defect, the replacement has bad sounding speaker, but it's not bad enough for another swap.

We got a Win8 HP desktop recently, it seems pretty nice too. I like the Win8 so far.

I got my son a Nokia 822 for Christmas.
So far, it is quite a nice phone - Win8 works well on the mobile side.
