Has the Black Treasure tube gone the way of the dodo?

It seems the sources of this tube are drying up.  Ebay direct from China and just a couple tube dealers in  the US.  Anyone know what gives?

Think it has been superceded by the Psvane tubes. IIRC, there are a couple varieties of Psvane at this point. One with the warmer Treasure sound, another that has a bit less warm sound. Think Grant Fidelity's website is where I saw this. But not totally sure and don't have the time to check at the moment.

Too much $$$?

They make tubes that'll work in most of my gear, but I can buy nice NOS tubes for less. Also, the CV181 is supposed to be a 6SN7 but has a lower max plate voltage, requires 50% more heater current and has a mu of 32 vs 20 for a 6SN7 so they aren't necessarily a drop-in replacement, my preamp at 325V B+ might be too hot for the CV181...

As roscoe said, Psvane is distributing a new updated Treasure tube, the current production is old stock.

Parts connecxion has them on sale:

Did you notice the "Discontinued once sold" signs in the listing?  I'm just curious if Shuguang has stopped producing the BT? Or is the line not being imported b/c it's no longer the flavor of the month?  Sure had a fairly short run, huh?  Anyone know if the Psvane Premium is just the BT with gold pins and a shnazzy base?  And is the Psvane HiFi just a rebranded standard Shuguang?

Yes this is correct, Pavane or Psvane is now made in the Guiguang factory, aka NGG, no more in the Shuguang factoty:

Spoke with Chris at Partsconnexion a couple of days ago while ordering some NOS bottles - he says they were just clearing out the old stock because there are new generations of the Psvane and Treasure tubes coming onto the market right now. If you're a fan on these tubes, fear not.

IIRC Psvane basically spun off and is their own company now operating out of their own little corner of the Guigang factory.  Black Treasure is still a Shuguang brand.  Discontinuing of old products and development of new ones will probably cement the differences between the two.

Very curious to know what Shuguang has planned for the BT line.

Question: These new Psvane 211 & 845 are the regular 100W plate or the another short leg 75W version??
