Hi FULLRANGEMAN and all Audio Circle members.

Sorry to say, but at first look, I am not impressed with the new
Martin Logan headphones.

Look like any average on the ears headphones.

What's the price for those ?

$300 according to the site.
A pittance for luxurious executive styling.
I think that's who they've targeted as their market segment.

Interesting. Those ear pads seem like they would get very warm. I'm interested to hear reports on the sound.

Ear pads are not a great approach to long term listening comfort IMHO. I think SteveFord sums up the situation pretty well. They might be OK but if I was gonna drop $300 on a pair of cans, I'd most likely give the AKG K550 a go first... they've been at the "cans" thing a whole lot longer.

Guy,mate,is not an average headphone,I have bought a similar HQ headphone from philips,
the materials are HQ,so is a headphone that rivals the best headphones money can buy,
$300 is a good deal, considering others retail for a thousand or more...so I cant wait to hear
from others how they sound...I am confident it is a very good headphone...

Hi Georgopoulos and all Audio Circle members.

I am sure, that I am not the only Audio Circle member that think
that the sound quality is important,
but I am also not the only one that think the look and comfort are
also an important factors
when you chose a pair of headphones.

I don't like the look of the Martin Logan headphones
and for me, the over the ears cup is very important.

I am sure the Martin Logan headphones are not comfortable to wear,
just by the look of them.

If they are a good pair of headphones and a great deal at 300USD,
well,
I will let the others, buy it.

Hi Georgopoulos and all Audio Circle members.

How about if you show us some pictures
and specifications of your

Hi Guy
Look what I said above, I wish other headphones had the same specs, ie you can use them with the ipod
or other players etc...what do you say to that?

For info about my amplifier see the link bellow
georgopoulos.awardspace.com

 :)

Hi Georgopoulos and all Audio Circle members.

Of course specifications are important,
but to me,
the look and especially the comfort is very important.

If you read again my post, I mention that already.

That's my criteria and nobody can argue with that,
that's a personal choice.

It's not the first time I try to connect to your link
and it still does not work.

Too bad for you,
because if I cannot see your products,
I cannot buy them.

I might be wrong, or maybe some people do like mono? I have some fantastic mono LPs but they are from 50 years ago.

Hi stevenkelby and all Audio Circle members.

I have a mono LP of Laurendo Almeida a classic guitar player
that is also 50 years old.
A gift from my godmother when I was 16 years old.
Unfortunately, it's all scratched up and difficult to enjoy.
I also have a few mono LP from the Ventures.

George mentioned in another thread I believe that mono is something he's checking out, for me I'm like curious why? I'm open to hearing why but really enjoy stereo and all it offers. I first thought that 5.1 was the ticket until friends here helped me get together a serious, good sounding and imaging stereo setup and I was floored at how lost I could get in the sound, the imagery and soundstage. I can even bring myself to try mono, George even offered at one point, I just got so into two channel I just can't even try it at this point.
I'm not totally close minded about it even though I pretty much just wrote that...lol 8)

Good 2 channel audio with quality components is virtually always a better experience than a multichannel system with mediocre components, as eclein notes. I will ALWAYS opt for two good speakers over five crappy ones. By the same token, good mono can be better than bad stereo (early Beatles albums being a prominent example). If I want to listen in mono, though, there are ways to get it without being stuck with it. I can flip a switch on my amp, or change a setting on my computer, and presto... mono. This makes more sense to me than an amp that plays mono only. (I looked at the "amazing" mono amp btw. To the extent that you can tell from the pic (that looks like it was shot with a cell phone cam) it appears to be built in a low cost plastic enclosure and will, I suspect, be a tough sell at the $1200 price listed on the website. In another thread it was said to cost $200 or so; don't know what happened to the price.)
