For anyone who’d like to try Foobar2000 as their Windows music server player, without having to either live with the relatively useless default configuration or spend a few months learning how to customize it…I’ve posted a comprehensive and very simple set of instructions in the Computer Audio section of my Jaguar Blog that will allow you to get up and running very quickly with the same setup I use on my machine.

Just download the program and then the layout files I uploaded, and run through the instructions on the page.  I’ve also done two other posts on the setup of Exact Audio Copy and Album Art Downloader, so you’ll have the full array of tools you need for Computer Audio, from start to finish.  It’s exactly what I could have used back when I knew nothing.

Tried the link on your blog http://www.7zip.com/ but it directs to 7zip.com. I am a Foobar user and would be great to have artwork shown in the layout.

There is an error in the underlying url of the sourceforge.net link which instead takes you to the 7zip site.
 
I cut and pasted the link text into my browser and arrived at the correct destination, http://sourceforge.net/projects/jaguarfoobar/
 
From there you can click on the Files tab to download the zip file of components.

I like the Foobar UI much better after loading your stuff into Foobar.

I get an error when I try this part -
Importing Layouts – To import the custom Layouts, Click: File > Preferences > Display > Columns UI, and press the “Import” button and navigate to the Jaguar folder for the file called Foobar_Layouts.fcl.

Are you able to browse to, find and select the Foobar_Layouts.fcl file?  What does the specific error dialog say?

Hello Chip, could be that you didn't transfer all the necessary files into the Foobar Components folder, specifically the Columns_UI file, in the previous step.  Reinstalling and downloading the files again is always a good place to start.  Next step is turn to the Hydrogen Audio Foobar forum...they know all.
