Which Mac volume control, does it matter?

The Mac has a master volume control, Itunes has a second volume control and then buried within each entry in itunes is a -100% to +100% volume adjustment. From a sound quality perspective does it matter which one is used to control the volume?

Ideally, you shouldn't use any and keep them maxed (0db). For the sake of convenience, use whatever is easiest.
