
Good luck with it. The table looks like it has a lot of potential. Reminds me of an SP10, or SP 15 the way it sits on the plinth. The details are gone now, but if I remember correctly the armboard is drilled at 222mm. The Encounter is 223, I believe. You might be able to drop it right in. Just align with a conventional protractor - not an arc protractor. You'll have an extra 1mm of room forward in the headshell.
A lot of DD fanciers think that quartz locked is better. IMO, it's only better if it's a better table. It can be implemented so the correction is too abrupt and actually sound worse (not naming any names), and there's nothing you can do about it. If the pitch holds rock steady as the ad says, you should be good to go. If it develops speed stability problems in the future, 9 times out of 10 you can fix it by cleaning the speed pots. If the plinth is hollow you can fill it with modeling clay for a nice improvement.
