Yes sir, you got that right, the only difference being is that Scheherazade used to leave the listener hanging till the next day.

Once the speakers come back from the veneer and polish shops I will post pictures. Meanwhile does it make any sense to post pictures of simple 5" 2 way speakers boxes that will be used as rear speakers. They are after all pretty small (8" x 12" x 5") and nothing special. Just simple 15 mm marine ply damped using dampmat and open cell foam.

There's no real mystery why photos of "bland" speakers build are so popular.
Here's a few reasons:

- There are people who LOVE music and LOVE everything that is associated with the reproduction of it.
Those people like to see pictures of any damn thing...it simply doesn't matter, as long as it has something to do with music.

- Then, there are people that have no idea which end of the hammer is the handle, but they love to see how things work, how they go together and how they make music. Those people also have a passion for "The Build", but in their minds, they're not only happy to see the process, but they're also dreaming of being like the person doing the building, and being as skilled. "Someday", maybe... They dream...

- There are also the new and un-informed.
These are the "future you". The future Navin's of the world. These will be the builders of things. They simply don't know how or where to begin.
Your threads will inspire, teach, and inform.

- Lastly, there are those of us that "can and do", that enjoy seeing the behind the scene process for a few reasons. One of which, is that we can relate and appreciate what it is we're seeing, because we've done it. We can cry with you when you struggle with the problem of "Even though I've measured twice, and cut once, it's still too short". We've been there, done that. But we also like to follow your build threads while we're at work, and have a minute or two (or three......) to check those build threads and dream about what we'd rather be doing instead of trudging along at our current "job" instead of following our passion of building instruments that can reproduce this magic we call music.

So you see Navin.....
What you think as small, ordinary, and mundane.....will enthrall, amaze, assist and awaken the next guy.

So please Sir, don't be shy. As they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure"......
Likewise, what you find monotonous, another will find inspiring and magical.

Thank you. This weekend might be a bit busy but by next weekend We should have started primer on the rear speakers. I am meeting the person responsible for the polish on the tower speakers tomorrow as I am a bit particular on the finish. The veneer we have used is Braziallian Wenge and fumed Eucalyptus ( I think).

I should be able to post some pictures on the speakers BEFORE they are polished on Monday. But I stumbled upon some nice builds on another forum. I have posted a couple of links; one that is similar to the Tempesta Extreme tower I am building and one that looks like the Cremona and Stadivarious. Hope this is no against four, rules. If so please accept my apologies and delete the link.

I did not want to upset Rick so won't post this on his forum but has anyone compared the Selah (RC4-Peridot or Tempesta Extreme) and Salk (Soundscape 8 or HT3) with the kit below?

For the Tempesta the amplifier will be 4 channels of a Arcam AVR400 and the audio source will be a Exposure 2010S2. The Video Source would be either an Oppo 103 (if i can get it) or Marantz UD5005.

For the Peridot-Excel (RC4 without subwoofer) amplification would be via a Yamaha S-200 integrated amp but for HT I will use an Onkyo 1010NR. The Peridot-Excel will be connected to a Yamaha A-S2000 amp (the Onkyo will drive the center and 4 rears) and in stereo mode the AVR will not be funtional. In HT mode the Onkyo will send the signal to the Yamaha.

RCA cable will be Supra EFF. HDMI cable will be Supra Met-S/B. Speaker cables are Supra Rondo for the Peridot Excel and Ply 3.4 and 2.0 (bi wire) for the Tempesta Extreme. Rear and center channels are Atlas Equator 2.0. SPDIF cables if needed will be either Atlas Hyper or Supra Trico.
After sending the Peridot-Excel and Tempesta for veneering and polishing I decided to get the Electronics.

After I paid the Arcam and Onkyo dealers I and asked for delivery they told me they had no stock and delivery would take 2 weeks or so. So here I was with not much to do so I decided to build the subwoofers (a 3 cu. ft. box with the TC15 and a 2 cu. ft. box with the TC12). Each subwoofer will be driven by a Yung SD500 plate amp.

Subwoofer baffle has a ring behind it for the extra long screws.







TC15 box without baffle. The baffle is a combination of 25mm MDF 3mm of fiberglass and 25mm of Marine grade ply and will be added next week.

Very very nice looking and Am sure superlative sounding ! I have been following your stuff in DIYA,Don't come here much often but glad that I did so that I could see this and catchup with you.

Have done fair share of DIY myself including some Interconnects,Speakercable's and what not ! I have also developed some drivers for my TL towers,Had posted the same over DIYA but as usual not much response as Am not a popular guy !

Anyways,Should you be interested in checking any of my stuff please feel free to drop in a PM.

I do intend to post more pictures when all the speakers are complete. This project was put on the back burner as we had a small family medical emergency which took quite a lot (over a month) of my wife's and my time. Hopefully things have stabalised and I can go back to finishing this project.
