Switch for TLP

Hi all!
Is it possible to put a selector switch, say, for a tuner in a TLP?
If so, how hard would it be.
 Thanks
Martin

It would be easy.
Drill holes on the back (8).
Mount RCA sockets on the back.
Drill a hole on the front.
Mount a selector switch (2 pole, 4 position) on the front.
Take the current leads that go from the rca on the back, to the main TLP board and solder to the output side of the selector switch.
Solder leads from the RCA sockets to the selector switch.
Done.

You can improve this by:
Get the best switch  you can (DACT is good)
Get a 4 pole not 2 pole (keep earths separate)
Mount flying leads on the switch (do away with rca sockets)

Martin,

Malcolm is right on the money;  he's done this, and his approach is exactly how it's done.

HOWEVER, the TLP is highly susceptible to hum - this is an intrinsic quality of any high impedance grid input device - and you'd better have good grounding to scotch any hum.

And if you connect a TV set, which often has a 'hot' chassis at mains potential, it's wise to couple both the signal hot and the signal cold to the TLP with capacitors, both say of 470nF or so.

Cheers,

Hugh
