Suds in the Bucket

Don't care much for country music except for Shania Twain. The other day however I heard this song on the car radio, Suds in the Bucket by Sara Evans. What a voice I thought!

Didn't know the name of the song. Managed to find it on Youtube with a search, sounded pretty good. Ran out and purchased two of her cds.

Transferred to computer using Jitter Correction, which takes longer to rip. Finally queued up the song. Wow! Sound quality puts Youtube and the radio to shame.

I'm  to admit I'm listening to country music.

Give Alison Krauss + Union Station a listen.  A lot of well recorded "country" music out there (of course none of this is the old time drunk in my beer run over by a train while I beat my dog country).  For males try Kenny Chesney, has a Jimmy Buffet/Jack Johnson twist to it.

I've got some Alison Krauss around here somewhere? I'll check my discard pile. :thumb:

Found it Alison Krauss- Lonely Runs Both Ways. Wasn't in the discard pile, but in a back catalog. :|

Lady Laundrew is a huge country fan, country music is way too depressing for me

All kidding aside, while country is not my forte, I do enjoy some very specific tunes.

I'm not a fan of bluegrass, but Allisons voice soars with this DVD concert.

Funny thing - someone very sternly argued with me that Johnny Cash wrote that song.  I let him go on and on.  I acted like I had to text my wife, and googled it on my iPhone.  Showed it to him and smirked.  At least he was smart enough to just walk away.

At a university I used to work at, we'd put on a real backwoods country music station when there were too many people hanging out for no reason other than just taking up space.  That cleared the room real quick.  Ive tried it recently at my last job, and for some reason it doesn't have the same effect.  I think country has gained popularity since the late 90s/early 2000s.  Then again, that last university's students were a lot less intelligent than the other one.  That's probably the more accurate reason why it was far more tolerated :)
