as an old school 2000AD/Judge Dredd fan i hated the stallone version. this rendition restored my faith in big screen adaptations of my favorite comics. plenty of violence, gun fire and special effects to stimulate the senses. but beneath all of that is the original grittiness that was a critical part of the comic. even if you got into the comics, give the movie a try.
