surrounds

i have been kicking around new surrounds (7.1) for quite some time now. selah has a whole range of monitors that would work, i have been eyeing the SSR's for instance. all of them seem capable of easily crossing over to a sub. i am looking at sealed cabinets for easy placement. the question is, are the SSR's overkill for monitors? should i start my search lower in the line? higher? these aren't going to be used as mains remember, just surround duties. where would a good entrance point be in the line up for a high quality surround speaker? specifics: i have salk HT2-TL's as mains and dual rythmik subs. my eventual HT space will probably be arround 7'H, 15W, 21D. i listen to more music than HT including 5.1 DVD-A and SACD.

I have Salk ht3's/htc up front, and have Selah Tanzanites for surrounds, and Selah custom in wall Tanzanites, although Rick might have another name for them. I also have Rythmik subs.

I have not heard the SSR, but based on what I have heard, see no reason they wouldn't work great.

Since you listen quite often to music in surround it's more common to have a speaker that is similar in tonality to the front L/C/R. In this case the S6 is what I would suggest. It's more compact than the SSR and the woofer is a better match for your mains. Here's the link to it...http://www.selahaudio.com/id170.html
