True color film from 1902

Most people think that color film didn't arrive until the 1930s (or later). Here is a short article and video on the rediscovery and restoration of a true-color film from 1902. Pretty amazing all around.

I used to be in the photography business so this is very interesting.  It makes sense that it happened in 1902, since Edward Steichen took one of the first color prints with an 8 x 10 camera in 1904 of the Flat Iron building.

I find the whole concept of persistence of vision, which enables the illusion of motion, to be fascinating.
