New A/V-3 versus Original A/V-3

Danny, I purchased and built your original a/v-3 design just after you introduced the line, a year later I upgraded with the sonocaps, I like the smaller footprint of the new A/V-3 and realize the new bass/mid range. Would I experience a significant improvement with the new model ?

There are improvements in some areas.

Bass response is better controlled, tighter and faster. Midrange has some added detail but may give up a little fullness.

The very bottom end was a little stronger in the older version that used the larger woofers.

The really good thing about the new one is that it has a small sealed box matching center.

Plus, it is a smaller size and in more narrow (higher WAF).

No really big performance improvements though, same basic character and sound.
