Hi folks!

Super excited, new owner of Salk HT1-TLs to arrive in the next day or so.

My question is regarding a HT set-up. I understand that Salk Song line are a pretty close match to HT1-TLs - I wanted to get the opinion if a Song Center and Song Surrounds would be a good match? 

Also I would drive this with an Emotiva XPA-5 and an Anthem MRX700 - do you think that is a good pairing?

The HT1-TL's are a more detailed speaker than the SongSeries speakers (due to the magnesium cone in the W18 midwoofers).  So my advice would be to use a center channel with the same basic drivers.  This would most likely be the Veracity HT2C center.  That way, when sound is panned across the front of the room, you will not hear a difference in midrange detail.

For surround duties, speakers are less critical.  The SongSurround speakers would work just fine.  All of these speakers are voice roughly the same, so I doubt you would notice any difference with SongSurrounds.

Since both units (Emotiva XPA-5 and Anthem MRX700) have amplification, would you think there would be an appreciable pick up to biamp them?

Also does anyone else an Emotiva with their Salks. I know it is a low end amp - just wanted to see if this would play nicely together with HT1-TLs or if this is something I need to start planning to replace.

I am anxiously awaiting my speakers today, even then I won't really be able to audition other amps. Funny they are being shipped Fedex and a truck rolled by but didn't stop.

I was at the front door waiting. Now I know what my (2) dogs feel like I guess, if I had a tail if would have been wagging.

First of all - congrats to you.  In case you haven't already been told this, welcome to the Salk family!

I don't think it is necessary to bi-amp the HT1-TL's, but I suppose it depends on a number of things, such as power being provided, room size, listening levels, etc.  I don't hear differences between bi-amping and single, but that doesn't mean you won't.  If you have the means, try it and see if things change for the better.

Thanks guys - I missed the UPS guy for my center channel so I haven't been able to get things fine tuned just yet.

However as you might expect I have been tinkering and tweaking the sound before I run ARC and concisely put it sounds great!
